Zac Johnson

Zac Johnson has been performing professionally in and around the San Francisco bay area since 1978. As a student Zac has won many awards, including the Concord Pavilion's Dave Brubeck Scholarship in 1980 and the Pacific Coast Jazz Festival Best Music Scholarship in 1984. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in music performance from the California State University in Los Angeles in 1984. Zac has backed up artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Joe Williams, Huey Lewis, Eddie Money and Billy Eckstein. He has done recordings with artists such as Steve Erquiaga, Stevan Pasero, Canoneo, and Christopher Spheeris. Zac has also been an active private music instructor for saxophone, clarinet, and flute in the Walnut Creek/Pleasant Hill/Concord area since 1979 and frequently teaches at the Lafayette Summer Music Jazz Workshop.
